Original language description
After three years of the necessary temporary period certified organic fine aroma Saazer has been at disposal since August 2012. Whereas damson-hop aphid (Phorodon humuli Schrank) is controlled with the help of extract of the tropical plant Quassia amaraas well as by native predators, mainly aphidophagous coccinellids, predatory mite Typhlodromus pyri Scheuten is released to support native populations of acarophagous predators to control two-spotted spider mite (Tetranychus urticae Koch). The release rate of T. pyri depends on a locality and actual endangering by spider mites. The fact this species is able to hibernate in hop gardens and control this dangerous pest in the following years is of great importance within the project of organic hop growingin Czech Republic.
