    Dynamic fracture of fiber reiforced concrete

  • Original language description

    The dynamic fracture of composites in form of fiber reinforced concrete has been studied by using the dynamic Brazilian test. Combined with a high-speed photographic system, a split Hopkinson pressure bar was used to conduct dynamic Brazilian tests on concrete specimens with carbon, aramide, glass, polyprophylen and wollastonite fibers. Based on the images recorded by a high-speed camera, the displacement and strain fields were obtained by the digital image correlation method. The dynamic deformation and failure of the brittle materials were analyzed with respect to the loading rate. The preliminary numerical simulation of the experiments was also performed.
