Perceived disruption of everyday life during the COVID-19 pandemic

  • Original language description

The COVID-19 pandemic has unleashed unprecedented disruptions on society, demanding further research to unravel its effects. As countries implemented measures like curfews, quarantines, and assembly bans to curb the virus's spread, new interventions emerged, reshaping individuals' lives and reducing social interactions. This study delves into the perceptions of disruption caused by the pandemic, a critical area of research warranting attention. Public policymakers seek to identify the tipping point at which epidemic situations and imposed interventions overwhelm the majority. Thus, gathering comprehensive information about the perceived disruption of everyday life, specifically its impact on activities of daily living, assumes paramount importance. To delve into this topic, our study employs the validated Fear of COVID-19 scale (FCV-19S) alongside measures capturing key aspects of quality of life, types of family bonds, and self-reported health.
