Constructed wetlands with sub-surface flow are commonly used to treat various type sof wastewaters. There are two major design: with horizontal continuos flow and with vertical intermittent flow. The former system is very efficient in removing organics and suspendede solisd while the lated is often used hen amonia is the target polutant.

Czech description
Umělé mokřady s podpovrchovým tokem jsou běžně používány pro čištění různých druhů odpadní vody. Tyto systémy se dělí na dva typy: s horizontálním tokem anebo vertikálním tokem. První systém je vhodný pro odstraňování organických látek a nerozpuštěných látek a druhý systém je často používán na odstranění amoniaku.
