Original language description

Growing of fruit trees has a long tradition in the Czech Republic. While changing of land ownership in the last century, old orchards, alleys and scattered trees in the landscape have been severely endangered and often cut down. These old plantations were usually composed of local varieties. In 1994, a programme on the rescue and conservation of those still existing regional fragments of fruit trees was started. In the visited localities the found material was determined to cultivars, their health status was evaluated, and the results were noted to a data base file connected with maps of the Geobaze programme. The most valuable cultivars were grafted to the germplasm collection of the RBIP Holovousy. The age of evaluated trees was between 80 and 200 years. They were proposed for in situ conservation on the original localities. In the recent years a new system of ?on farm" conservation was designed. Krajové odrůdy ovoce s ostůvkovitým rozšířením v ČR

Czech description

Pěstování ovoce v ČR má dlouhodobou tradici. Se změnou půdní držby docházelo k likvodaci starých sadů a stromů v krajině a staré odrůdy se staly kriticky ohrožené. V roce 1994 jsme začali program na jejich záchranu. V navštívených regionech se postupně určovaly odrůdy a posuzoval se jejich zdravotní stav a provádělo se mapování. Nejcennější materiály byly přeroubovány do školky v Holovousích.
