Tree and fruit characteristics of four apple novelties in the Czech Republic
Original language description
The cultivars ‘Antopa’, ‘Idapaz’ and ‘Semira’ were registered in the Czech Republic in March 2018. In addition, ‘Kreja’ was registered in February 2019. In this study their tree and fruit characteristics were compared with the three standard cultivars ‘Gala’, ‘Golden Delicious’ and ‘Jonagold’ growing in the same experimental orchard. The tree vigour of the novelties range from ‘Antopa’ that is similar to ‘Gala’ up to ‘Kreja’ which is similar to ‘Jonagold’. ‘Antopa’ with the longest storable fruits is resistant to scab. Fruits of all novelties are attractive and their taste is very good to excellent. They are not susceptible to storage disorders.
