Alternative methods of cereals protection against to phytopathogenic fungi
Original language description
Plants are during their lives attacked by various phytopathogenic fungi. In many specialized laboratories are developing new plant protection substances. Besides the development of synthetic chemicals there are tested so-called botanical pesticides, substances derived from plants. Currently is registered and commercially available very few pesticides obtained or derived from plants, or products of their metabolism. In our study we tested essential oils extracted from aromatic plants and their effect on inhibition of mycelium growth of important phytopathogenic fungi attacking cereals. All essential oils affected the mycelial growth of all tested fungi. Chemical composition of test substances was analyzed by gas chromatography.
