Selection of wide GWAS wheat population for identification of important agronomical traits loci
Original language description
The GWAS is a powerful tool for identification loci and molecular markers associated with plant traits. We selected 470 spring and winter bread wheat lines used mainly for grain production and breeding in the Central Europe in the past century. The lines were DArTseq genotyped and in 467 of them 28,279 reliable markers were detected with an average 2,900 markers per chromosome and average distance between markers of 0.278 Mb. The identified loci are a good base for gene cloning and development of markers useful in breeding. Additionally, the genotyped population could be used for mining associated loci and markers also for other traits.
