Original language description
Education is a key investment in the future, and thus this paper focuses on a comparison of investment into tertiary education across the EU. The article looks for links between a level of funds being assigned to Universities and these Universities´ rankings. It focuses on competition within the CEE region. Global universities´ rankings are used as a benchmarking method for evaluating an impact of levels of investment on a quality of education. It was found that level of investment into tertiary education has a significant impact on a quality of education and competitiveness of countries within the global/pan EU competition.
