Long-term atmospheric exposure of steel structures
Original language description
The case studies of various low-alloyed steel structures (bridges, high voltage pylons, etc.) exposed in atmospheric conditions for long-term periods (30, 50, 60 and 80 years) were performed in respect to their residual service life. Corrosion loss had been found only on specific structure´s areas when painting systems failed. There were studied the effect of corrosion attack on mechanical properties. Mechanical properties of steel do not decrease during exposure. This paper has been presented on the conference EUROCORR 2022, Berlin, Germany.
