INVESTMENT IN UKRAINE DURING THE WAR AND PROSPECTS OF INVESTMENT PROCESSES IN THE POST-WAR PERIOD

  • Original language description

This paper analyses the impact of the 2022 Russian invasion on foreign direct investment (FDI) in Ukraine and proposes strategies for post-war economic recovery. It employs a mixedmethods design combining a two-stage least squares regression model with a comparative analysis of five post-conflict countries. The results indicate that armed conflict substantially reduces FDI inflows, while GDP growth and development aid serve as positive drivers of recovery. The study finds that wartime investment patterns show resilience in sectors such as agriculture, ICT, and defence. Drawing on successful cases such as Georgia and Croatia, the paper highlights the importance of regulatory reform, risk mitigation instruments, and EU integration in rebuilding investor confidence. These findings offer important insights for Ukraine’s transition from economic disruption toward long-term sustainability and competitiveness in the post-war global investment environment.
