Creep and Fracture Behaviour of Dissimilar P91/P23 WeldsCreep and Fracture Behaviour of Dissimilar P91/P23 Welds
Original language description
Cross weld creep rupture tests have been conducted on dissimilar P91/P23 welds at temperatures 500, 550 and 600°C up to 3x104 hours. Welds A and B were manufactured by MMA process using low alloy (Thyssen Cr2WV) and high alloy (E CrMo 91B) consumables, respectively. This paper describes the effect of creep test variables on the failure mechanisms of alternative weld designs. The fracture behaviour of creep ruptured specimens was investigated by using optical and electron microscopy. Furthermore, hardness profiles were evaluated on longitudinal sections through the ruptured cross weld test pieces.
