The present paper summarizes the partial results obtained during bilateral project ?The Comparison of Codes of Practice for Determination of Mechanical properties by Small Punch (SP) Tests between EU and China? solved within the frame of Czech-Chinese Scientific and Technological Cooperation. The participants of this project were MATERIAL & METALLURGICAL RESEARCH Ltd. (MMR), Ostrava, Czech Rep. and School of Mechanical Engineering, East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai, China. On thebasis of common experimental programme realized in both laboratories the database of the penetration tests results and results of standardized tensile tests and Charpy V notch impact tests was obtained. It enabled us to assess the effect of loading system and Code of Practice used on empirical correlations for determination of yield stress, tensile strength and FATT (Fracture Appearance Transition Temperature
