    Creep tests of Inconel 718 samples

    The research was focused on the evaluation of the effect of pre-deformation on the creep characteristics of Inconel 718 alloy. This effect was assessed using stress rupture tests performed on testing material supplied in the state after five different degrees of deformation that corresponded to 0-6% of yield stress. Test specimens were crept to fracture in vertical creep machines of lever type in accordance with ISO 204. The results confirmed that with increasing level of preload (0-6% of yield stress) time to fracture increases, too.
