Original language description
The current situation in Europe calls for a fundamental change in the under standing of human values and social priorities. We do not live in a time when it is possible to perceive risk or threat as something that is uninteresting for us as individuals and does not relate to the natural fear for our own life. The events in our daily lives prove this and reflect the seriousness of the international political situation, which has not yet emerged in this century. We live in a time when Europe experiences an ongoing military conflict in Ukraine, which has affected the whole European society in all areas of social, cultural and political life. The phenomenon of security is at the forefront of interest in all areas of our lives. The 21th century is marked by the democratic establishment in the individual countries of Europe. We have managed to create a political, military and social unit, an international organization in the European region – the European Union. Togetherness and respect for democratic values have been disrupted from the outside and the principles of democracy must be defended and respected throughout the whole European society.
