Prodlužování života strojních zařízení aplikací periodických defektoskopických prohlídek

  • Original language description

Traditional design used to apply ?safe life? approach, in which an operation was terminated before a fatigue crack initiation and failure risk rising. The machine is sometimes operated further by the operator as the safe life period is just a part of material capacity because a safety factor was applied by a manufacturer. However, machine reliability is unknown in this manner. A ?fail safe? design is not suitable for heavy industry machines but a ?damage tolerance? approach is available for both new designs and lot of operated machines. Presented methodology is applied to a reciprocate compressor case study. After severe exceeding of guarantied service life, a failure of connection rod has appeared. Fatigue cracking has been identified in the criticalarea and life extension was submitted. The reliability has been renewal in the cases of other products of the same type and similar age operated in the customer?s technology.
