Research is focused on finding appropriate technologies for specific groups of industrial waste materials (IWM), e.g. cocal combustion residues, sludges, metallurgical slags etc. Many of them contain increased amounts of toxic elements that can under certain conditions get released. In order to prevent it, each specific IWM requires to find the technology that best ensures that long-term leachability of the toxic elements is minimized.

Czech description
Výzkum je zaměřen na nalezení vhodných technologií pro specifické skupiny průmyslových odpadních materiálů (POM), např. zbytky ze spalování uhlí, kaly, metalurgické strusky atd. Mnoho z nich obsahuje zvýšené množství toxických prvků, které se mohou za určitých podmínek uvolňovat. Aby se tomu zabránilo, je třeba pro každý POM najít vhodnou technologii, která nejlépe zajistí, že dlouhodobá vyluhovatelnost toxického prvku bude minimalizována.
