    The paper presents some issues connected with the negative impact of microorganisms on fibre-cement building materials and describes the possibilities of protection against the bio-corrosion, stressing the importance of applying appropriate cement binders and environmental additives or agents which increase the building material resistance to microorganisms. The authors described the technical requirements for the application of protective procedures in construction industry.
