Influence of soil tillage on soil compaction

  • Original language description

Some types of soil degradation can be quite easily eliminated or at least their negative impact may be alleviated. It is usually enough to obey the rules of management on a particular soil. The care for soil physical properties and soil structure is veryimportant if we want to retain soil plasticity and its quality for sustainable soil fertility. The quality of soil is the product of soil resistance to changes and the impact of degradation processes. From the agricultural viewpoint, the most importantquality for maintaining soil stability is soil physical status which is mainly influenced by soil structure, porosity and compaction. Impairment of these qualities causes physical degradation of soil. The essential role in physical degradation of soils is played by humans.
