CZECH CORE COLLECTIONS OF THE MOST IMPORTANT FABACEAE SPECIES AND THEIR PRACTICAL USE
Original language description
All available varieties, breeding lines and wild forms collected in the nature of the red clover (209 accessions), the white clover (161 accessions) and the alfalfa (457 accessions) stored in the Czech national gene bank were during the years 2005-2008 evaluated. Ten plants of each accession were evaluated from the point of view of morphological, yield and phytopathological characters. Established core collections contain 76 accessions of the red clover, 41of the white clover and 99 of the alfalfa. Cluster analysis was performed for all the evaluated accession in each species. Complete linkage method was used for clustering and Euclidean distance as the measure of distance. Detailed evaluation of core collection was performed in the red clover. The core collection was from the point of view of resistance to Fusarium spp. and Bean yellow mosaic virus (BYMV) evaluated. Microsatellites (SSRs) were used for the study of genetic diversity of core collections accessions.
