Original language description

Bumblebee (Bombus terrestris L.) like a suitable pollen vector in a mobile isolating cages at controlled pollination of self-sterile sweet and sour cherries for the purpose of crossbreeding was verified at RBIP Holovousy in the period 2015-2018. The pollination by hand used in practice is demanding and less effective. Blooming branches of a selected paternal variety as a source of pollen were placed in the cage. Flight activity of bumblebees and the pollination efficiency in the isolating cages were evaluated as fully sufficient. In this way, the pollination was much faster and easier and yield of seed from individual parental combinations was much higher. Sufficient number of individuals in one hive per cage approximately 30 cubic meters was set as 30 pieces. Within the trial, the walk through pollen reservoir located in the bumblebee hive exit was constructed and verified, usable for the crossing of varieties with a very different flowering time.
