The genus Vicia comprises 150–210 species globally, with 36 present in the Czech Republic (15 native). Wild vetches are vital genetic resources for modern agriculture, offering high adaptability to abiotic stress and potential for landscape restoration. This study evaluated seven species (V. cracca, V. sativa, V. angustifolia, V. tetrasperma, V. villosa, V. pisiformis, V. hirsuta) across two years at three distinct sites (Troubsko, Olomouc, Šumperk). The goal was to identify parental lines suitable for breeding varieties adapted to the increasing drought and climatic instability in the Czech Republic.
