Original language description
The article focuses on the results from recent experimental of severe plastic deformation of low and medium carbon steel performed at increased temperature. The grain refinement of ferrite-pearlite is described using ECAP severe deformation. The high straining in low carbon steel resulted in extensively elongated ferrite grains with dense dislocation network, randomly recovered and polygonized structure was observed. The tensile strength was increase more then twice, however the ductility reduced distinctively. On the other side, the warm ECAP deformation of medium carbon steel resulted in more progressive recovery but not sufficient grain refinement. As straining increased the dynamic polygonization and recrystallization process became active to formmixture of polygonized subgrains and submicrocrystalline grains having high angle boundaries.
