Microstructure behaviour of AlMgSi alloy processed by ECAP and its thermal stability
Original language description
In present study an AlMgSi alloy (AW6082) was an experimental material for deformation experiment carried out severe plastic deformation using ECAP. Aluminium alloy was prepared with three different initial structural states prior ECAP deformation at increased temperature. Substructure and grain refinement of alloy was then investigated by TEM after successive application of different effective strain applied. Hardness and tensile properties were then evaluated with respect to strain level executed. Structure stability and changes in mechanical properties were related to applied strain at two different temperatures of 270 and 350°C. The effect of different increased temperature and hold time at temperature was then monitored with respect to structuralchanges and hardness.
