Original language description
The isothermal formation of secondary phases in duplex stainless steel was studied. Samples were isothermally heat treated (aged) at temperatures of 700, 800 and 850°C in a quenching dilatometer. Microstructured evolution of secondary phases was analysedby means of optical and scanning electron microscopes. Both common phases, Chi and Sigma, were observed. The resulting shrinkage curves from dilatometric measurements show the potential for research into the formation of minor phases and the estimationof transformation kinetics in this kind of steel.
