Original language description
The European harmonisation and integration process of the legal protection of industrial and further intellectual property was preceded by a worldwide process. Regional European harmonisation and integration in industial property protection started in 1957, when agreements on the European Economic Community (EES)and the EUROATOM were signed. At the beginning of seventies of the last century activities concerning a European patent led to a proposal of the Convention on the grant of European Patents (theEPC) and the constitution of the European Patent office in Munich (EPO).
