Post-Communist Regimes in Central Europe thirty years after: Time for another Revolution?
Original language description
The study deals with the comparison of causes, course and dynamics of anti-communist revolutions in 1989 in Czechoslovakia, Poland and Hungary. These revolutions were mainly different in the characteristics of the main actors and initiators of change, as well as in the area of strategy for the promotion of change as well as the speed, scope and outcome of the reforms implemented. However, it can be said of all three that the reasons for the dissatisfaction of the population with the Communist regime were very similar and that the reforms implemented in all these areas as a result of the fall of communist regimes were crucial in the political, economic, social and cultural system. In all three stable parliamentary democracies and the stability system restored market economy. In addition, the study looks at the current political situation in the countries under review and assesses them in view of the deep political, economic and social changes currently taking place in these countries. The severity of these changes compares with the depth of the changes made in the 1990s.
