    Emanation thermal analysis was used in the characterization of Na- montmorillonite and montmorillonite saturated with cations Li+ , Mg 2+ a Al 3+ . Microstructure changes in the samples after their dehydration on heating up to 200oC were indicated by thedecerase of mobility of radon ,used as a microstructure probe in the emanation thermal analysis.
