Evaluation of regeneration techniques for weak and strong base anion resins fouled with iron-organic compounds
Original language description
The presented work describes the efficiency of regeneration of fouled weak and strong base anion exchange resins. Organic fouling, especially humic acids combine readily with iron to form complexes and have considerable influence on the reduction of treated water. This complexed iron passes through the cation exchange filter and falls out of anion exchanger. Several methods of anion resins reganeration have been identified in this work. After regeneration, the capacities of anion exchange resins were measured under the standard conditions and then compared with the capacities of a new anion eschange filters. To evaluate the efficiency of the regeneration, the ion exchange resins were consequently burned up. Remaining ash was after that tissolved in hydrochloric acid and analysed by AAS instrument in order to determine the content of iron. At the end, the analysis of iron in anion exchange resin was implemented by SEM/EDX technique, which was aimed at the examination of surface morpholo
