Utilization of LR-0 Reactor in MSR Research
Original language description
Study of the reactivity effects, which are in many cases negligible, is difficult task. For example in the planed frame of the temperature reactivity coefficient measurement in the FLIBE salt, the introduced reactivity can be as low as 10-20 pcm. With regard to these requirements the experiments with special core configurations with high sensitivity to low introduced reactivity changes were performed at LR-0 reactor. The core configurations proved to be highly sensitive to the small reactivity changes and the calculations showed some discrepancies in physical description of the compound containing fluorine. The results also imply this kind of core configurations to be applicable for the planed precise measurement of the MSR FLIBE salt temperature reactivity coefficients. Another important task is the study of neutron spectra in the inserted materials. The neutron spectra were measured after the layer of the FLINA salt and graphite and these measurements were compared with calculations
