Energy Well: Conceptual design of a small molten salt cooled reactor as an opportunity for the Czech industry
Original language description
The article describes the current status of development of small modular reactors (SMRs) worldwide. The Nuclear Research Institute Řež Group and its daughter company, Research Centre Řež, have developed a conceptual design of the Energy Well reactor and the associated power plant. It is based on molten salt cooled TRISO fuel. The technical solution of the plant, having the heat power 20 MWt at 7 years of uninterrupted operation, is described in detail. The future steps are outlined.
