The activity focuses on the design and development of water-cooled divertor-like component called Megatarget intended for testing at the high heat fluxes experimental facility HELCZA in Pilsen, Czech Republic. The aim is to provide the target capable to remove very high heat fluxes (up to 20 MW/m2) which are generated by the electron beam of the HELCZA facility and to produce relevant thermal-hydraulic data for validation of computational codes. In this paper, design of the MEGATARGET will be described as well as planned experimental program and expected outputs. Moreover, a CFD model of the MEGATARGET able to deal with two-phase water flow in the channels equipped with a swirl tape was prepared, tested and will be also described in the paper. Results of the pre-test calculations will be mentioned.
