Synthesis of zeolite based sorbents for separation of mercury from flue gas
Original language description
Due to the implementation of new BAT reference document (BREF) the large combustion plants are forced to reduce amount of mercury they are releasing in their flue gas. One of the promising ways to control mercury emission is to selectively separate it from the flue gas by capture on solid sorbents. Zeolites are well known of their outstanding sorption properties. The scope of this work is to synthetize new zeolite based sorbents and evaluate their applicability for mercury capture and assess the added value of synthesis/modification by comparing those with naturally occurring zeolites.
