Coaxial and Cross Valve Prototypes for Gas Cooled Fast Reactor
Original language description
The development of coaxial and cross valves is ongoing with the development of the gas-cooled fast reactor demonstrator ALLEGRO. The valves allow the proper function of the passive decay heat removal system. Due to the coaxial layout of the helium circuits of the system and due to temperatures, the component requires a relatively complex and innovative design. In this paper, the description of the coaxial and cross valves as well as the design of the valve prototypes that were developed, fabricated and patented at Research Centre Řež will be presented.
