Mechanical manipulator for use in hot cell - application of nonlinear method NWMS in irradiated concrete testing
Original language description
Methodology of non-destructive testing of reactor pressure vessel cavity made of concrete has been developed during last 6 years in Research centre Rez within grant project of the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic (MVČR). It used Nonlinear Wave Modulation Spectroscopy (NWMS) for detection of cracks in thermally deteriorated concrete. Current project o MVČR solves damage of concrete's internal structure caused by neutrons and the verification of lastly developed methodology. Mechanical manipulator Ester was developed for non-destructive inspection of irradiated concrete samples. It was designed as part of robotic system used for manipulation with radioactive material in hot cells.
