    The article describes the process and main outputs from the verification of the MMM (Metal Magnetic Memory) method when used to detect cracks in welded joints in pipelines. The verification procedure was divided into several parts. Prior to the production of test specimens with as-real cracks, MMM measurements were performed on semi-finished test specimens containing crack-free welded joints. This was followed by verification of the MMM method for crack detection without and with thermal insulation and verification of the effect of magnetization on the results of the MMM method.
