Post-irradiation examination (PIE) of irradiated concrete and materials for a waste storage
Original language description
Fixation matrix for HLW and ILW storage must meet requirements for long-term stability and prevent possible radionuclide migration and release. New progressive matrices are developed and tested under ALMARA experimental program. Long-term chemical and structural stability is evaluated periodically and after 3 yearsexperiment best candidate material will be recommended. Corrosion of metalic waste and radionuclide migration in the simulated ground water conditions is addressed. The results of the study will help to improve waste disposal safety. Report CVR-4974.
