Macrofungal diversity in forest fragments explained: a study from the Bohemian Karst
Original language description
Fungal communities in forest fragments in the observed part of the Bohemian Karst reflected both broad gradient of environmental conditions and the long-term history of anthropogenetic impact. These communities may be consequently impoverished of many fungal species insisting on conditions provided only in forest developed without management interventions. This impoverishment refers more or less to all types of forest vegetation inside the study area, so that we cannot determine the rate of depletion ofspecies richness. On the other hand, these forests are inhabited by many of threatened and rare species, at least partly for the same reason for that other species were absent, consist in interconnection of quite unique and heterogeneous environmental conditions and long-term management which created specific habitats otherwise lacking at least in contemporary landscape.
