The variety is resistant to powdery mildew ( Erysiphe pisi f. sp. pisi ;gene er-1) and fusarium wilt race1 (Fusarium oxysporum f sp. pisi,; gene Fw) and fusarium near wilt race2 (Fusarium oxysporum f sp. pisi,; gene Fnw). Variety Morris has partial tolerance to the root-rot complex diseases ( Fusarium solan , Rhizoctonia solani and Thielaviopsis basicola) .
