Toward introgression library carrying wild pea (Pisum fulvum) segments in cultivated pea (Pisum sativum L.) genome background.
Original language description
Genetic improvement of many crop plants has benefited from incorporation of traits from related wild species and other exotic germplasm sources.Development of recombinant inbred lines containing chromosome segments of wild pea (Pisum fulvum, P. subsp. elatius) genome in the cultivated pea (P. sativum subsp. sativum) genetic background defined by molecular markers will make use of alien genomes more precise and efficient. Currently we have F2BC1F1-2 generations of P.fulvum (WL2140) x P.sativum subsp. sativum (WL1238) reciprocal crosses. The efficiency of incorporation of allien genome segments is monitored by a set of mapped molecular markers, spanning defined chromosomal fragments in the method of bin mapping. 5th International Conference on Legume Genetics and Genomics, ICLGG, Asilomar, California USA
