Voluntary dry matter intake of silages made from grasslands under different grassland management on heifers from ?Low Input? system
Original language description
The aim of this article was assessment of voluntary dry matter intake (VDMI) of silages made from the grasslands with three different intensities of utilization compared with two housing systems in heifers from the ?Low Input? system. Grasslands were managed in this way: medium intensive utilization (3 cuts per year, level of fertilization N90P30K60); low intensive utilization (2 cuts per year, level of fertilization N90P30K60); and extensive treatment ? control (2 cuts per year, no fertilization). Theexperiment was conducted on 2x6 heifers (from the sucker cows rearing system) using 2 types of housing; loose box housing (using feeding troughs system RIC) and tie-stall housing. VDMI was influenced by intensity of fertilization and also the housing system also. The average values for the particular treatments were 16.66 ? 21.31 g.kg-1 BW (loose housing) and 16.32 ? 21.18 g.kg-1 BW (tiestall housing). VDMI in medium intensive and low intensive utilization was statistical significant (P
