Use of knowledge of biological transformation as an effective way to reduce ammonia emission and improve the quality of farmyard manure in straw bedded barns during years 2014–2015
Original language description
This article rating concentrations of gas emission and other parameters observed in the barn with and without the use of organic matter biological transformation activators in years 2014 and 2015. A total number of 360 samples of farmyard manure was collected from July 2014 to December 2015 in 2 farms – total 246 LU, young cattle from the suckler cows breeding system. Our results confirmed that the agent Z`fix application (P < 0.05) on the straw bedding by the farmyard manure production had a positive influence on the fermentation process and the farmyard manure quality and on the microclimate in the barn. In contrast to the control, higher contents (with Z`fix application) of the following compounds were found – N (by 15 %); N-NH4+ (by 34 %); P2O5 (by 42 %); K2O (17 %) and pH value increased from 8.6 to 9.3. It was found the decrease of the maximal mean ammonia emissions in the barn by 35 % compared to the control.
