Livestock farming as a major source of methane emissions and its impact on climate changes: short communication
Original language description
Global warming is a major global environmental, economic and social threat induced by increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases. Part of the solution of this problem in the Czech Republic and other European countries focuses on developing ways to reduce greenhouse gases (GHG), primarily methane emissions, from animal production. Methane (CH4) is estimated to be responsible for approximately 20 % of the greenhouse gas (GHG) effect (IPCC, 2001) and has a global warming potential 25 times greater than carbon dioxide. It is a short communication that deals with this issue in more detail.
