The objective was to develop a variety with stable seed yield and good tolerance to lower temperatures. The plants with similar growth habits (the colour of petals and sepals, stem height, leaf size, shape and colour, seed colour and winged seeds) and rhythm of plant development (flowering time) were placed into a field nursery. After pollination the progenies were used for negative selection for different types with the aim of developing a homogenized new population.
