    Paper presents results of fist stage of development of a steam-air mixture heater which is involved in ?Research and development of a flexible energy system transforming primary energy of biomass and alternative fuels by their combustion, or waste heat from different heat units, to electric energy with possible co-generation of higher efficiency? project whose head of the research team is the company VÍTKOVICE POWER ENGINEERING Inc. Project objective is to design and put into operation a demonstration unit of new thermal cycle with duty of ca. 500 kWe which will enable verification of mathematical model of the cycle, type of regulation, and impact of wet steam-air mixture parameters on efficiency, generated power duty, specific compression work and expansion work. It will also enable verification of parameters and methodology of design of key components.
