Original language description
Active protection of nature and landscape and its integration into farm managementare still not common in the Czech Republic. This paper introduces new approachesto landscape planning on the farm level which are widely used abroad, and presentsthe potential for their utilization under Czech conditions. The main idea of anindividual approach to farms is included in the concept of conservation farmmanagement plans. The basic framework for these plans is so-called ecologicalcompensation areas, which represent valuable biotopes in the agricultural landscape.The presented article also evaluates the quality of grassland as part of the ecologicalcompensation areas. The current subsidies for grassland are discussed and newproposals for payment based on increased species diversity, according to thenumber of indicator plant species, are also analysed.
