The research implicated in this PhD thesis originated from a concern about declining biodiversity in the rural landscape of the Czech Republic. The four different surveys were carried out in order to bring some new findings about the impact of organic agriculture on eco-stabilizing landscape elements and the role of organic farmers in landscape management on the farm level. The whole study tries to contribute to a beneficial understanding of the driving forces behind farmers´ decisions in rural landscape, which can lead to more efficient cooperation within the agro-environmental schemes and better targeting of the measures.
