The purpose of this article is to summarize the research, development, and subsequent application work in the area of the landing gear of the L410NG aircraft with the focus on the shock absorbing system. The main intention of upgrading the landing gear was to increase its loading capacity in connection with the increase of take-off and landing weight of the aircraft, increase of damping efficiency, increase of technical service life, minimize demands on operation and maintenance, and reduce weight while maintaining the existing installation dimensions and unambiguous interchangeability into the entire series of the L410 aircraft. Further intention was to replace the bearings with slide elements and to minimize maintenance demands.
