Determination of the limiting current density on laboratory-scale electrodialysis module
Original language description
Electrodialysis is an electrochemical separation process using ion exchange membranes to separate ions from the solution. The driving force of this process is electric potential difference. The most important applications of electrodialysis are production of irrigation or potable water, whey desalination, deacidification of fruit juices, removal of potassium tartrate from wine etc. The apparatus for electrodialysis is called electrodialysis module and it is composed of a membrane stack placed between two electrodes. The membrane stack consists of alternating cation and anion exchange membranes separated with spacers.
