Testing of membrane hollow fibers for CO2 separation from biogas
Original language description
Membrane separation is one of the possible ways how to upgrade biogas to biomethane. Polymeric materials are commonly used for this application. These materials can be manufactured to membrane modules in several ways - hollow fibers and spiral-wound module are usually used. This paper subscribes laboratory testing of membrane hollow fibers which are suitable for CO2 separation. Experiments were carried out with two new types of hollow fibers and two industrially-made samples of hollow fibers. The new ones were polyetherimide and mixture of polyetherimide and bismaleinimide. The industrially-made ones were polyetherimide from Air Products and polyphenyleneoxide from Parker. Mixtures of carbon dioxide and methane with two different concetrations were used for these experiments ? 50 % vol. of methane, CO2 the rest and 60 % vol. of methane, CO2 the rest. Experiments were carried out under five different pressures from 0,2 MPa to 1,5 MPa. Stage cut was set at three different leves ? 0,5, 0,
